The 66th Annual General Meeting of the Faridabad Industries Association (Fourth AGM under the Companies Act 2013) was held on 6th September 2019 at Hotel Radisson Blu, Mathura Road, Faridabad.

Mr. Sanjeev Khemka, President, FIA briefly shared the significant activities undertaken by the Association during the preceding year.

Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, Union Minister for Textiles and Women & Child Development and Shri Vipul Goel then Minister of Industries & Commerce and Environment & Industrial Training, Haryana were the as the Chief guest and the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

Smt. Smriti Irani in her address stated that the Modi Government is committed to serve the people of the country and work for nation building; the aim is to serve people beyond their expectations. She profusely thanked the members of the Association and the Office-Bearers for the honour given to her to address the august gathering. She assured the industry that any industry related problems where the Govt. intervention is needed, she will be more than willing to take up the issues with the concerned Ministry on behalf of FIA; this announcement was heartily greeted by all members with a thunderous applause.

Thereafter Smt. Smriti Irani, Union Minister for Textiles and Women & Child Development and Sh. Vipul Goel, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Haryana presented the following  distinguished Awards:-

Life Time Achievement Award:

Women Empowerment Award:

  • Rashmi Nagabhushan, Director Thermadyne Pvt. Ltd.
  • Aashima Khemka, Director, Avnida Learning Centre

Business Excellence Award:

  • Large Category   :     JCB India Ltd.
  • Medium Category :      V K Gupta, Director, Cenlub Industries Ltd.
  • Small Category   :     Madhav Rajgarhia, Director, Raaj Unocal Lubricants Ltd.

In addition, Chairmen of various Panels were also presented with Appreciation Awards.

Sh. K.C. Lakhani proposed a vote of thanks and appreciated the style of working of Smt. Smriti Irani and gave her the title of ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’.

Immediately after the AGM, a special function was also organized in which 8 Spindle Ambar Charkhas donated by Faridabad Industries Association were distributed to the poor women in conjunction with Sh. Vipul Goel, Hon’ble Industries Minister Haryana in the presence of Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani. In this program, the recipient women would be trained by Khadi and Village Industries Corporation (KVIC) and a supply chain created whereby the recipient will be able to earn about Rs. 8000 /- per month by spinning the Charkha.  Smt. Smriti Irani while handing over the allotment cards hailed this as a move for women empowerment and stated that this will provide many women a decent means of livelihood.
