About FIA Rotary Skill Development Centre
Skill upgradation is a major initiative of the Govt. of India and we as FIA are playing our expected role to promote the same amongst our members. We had made a modest beginning in 2014 by establishing modules for Centerless Grinding and Welding with the financial and material support of our members. I am proud to inform that in a period of 3 years we had trained and placed over 200 unemployed youth with various industry members.
Subsequently in 2016 our Executive body decided to upgrade the skill
Centre set up and accordingly we collected nearly Rs. 50 lakhs to construct a Workshop Hall and with the active support of Rotary International, we purchased machines worth Rs. 53 lakhs to enable us to conduct training under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
We are now registered as a Basic Training Provider (BTP) by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India and presently we are running following Modules under the NAPS :-
|Turner (Lathe & CNC)
|Welder (Gas & Electric)
|Operator Centerless Grinder
The inauguration of newly constructed workshop hall was held on 1st February, 2018. We have started our modules under NAPS scheme from February, 2018. Ever since then, we have successfully conducted training capsules in Welder (Gas & Electric), Turner and Operator Centerless Grinder modules in which near 300 students attended and they were provided gainful employment in our member industries.
Looking at the demand for Fitter trade amongst our member industries and as per the current market scenario, we are expanding the number of trades in our Skill Centre and introducing Fitter trade Module with the financial support of our member industry. The constriction work of the same is in progress and expected to be finished by September, 2022.
